Ty's whole family is from China Spring, so consequently that's where he grew up. Amalie, on the other hand, was born in Georgia. She is an Army brat; that's how she ended up in China Spring. She moved there as an incoming sophomore in high school. Ty and Amalie shared a couple classes and became friends, but as most friends do after high school they lost touch. A couple years went by and Ty had become a volunteer fire fighter for the China Spring community. Ty happened to be working one of the CSVFD's barbeques when Amalie went there and grabbed lunch. She contacted him later that day on Myspace. Ty began spending time with Amalie and her daughter Lyla and they formed a very quick bond. They started dating March 21, 2010. Amalie was 19 while Ty would be celebrating his 19th birthday just a week or two after. Since then they have spent 6 long years together and have formed an amazing relationship and built a wonderful life together. After they put Ty through school and he was situated in his career path they purchased a home which was a dream for them. Just half a year later Ty finally proposed! When they are hitched they'll have been together for over 7 years and plan to spend every year after the same!
